Happy New Year!

As I mentioned last year, New Year’s Eve is a bit of a stressful holiday for me. I feel the need to journal and reflect on the previous year, make resolutions for the next one and have a fantastic and fun time at midnight. I have this fear that everyone is having more fun than I am. It’s an extrovert thing.

This year, with my darling husband 11,758.12 km away in India, I’m having a “quiet” evening at my parents house. On the agenda is getting dressed up to go out for Chinese Food, playing Pandemic, watching a movie (TBD), eating copious amounts of ice cream cake & chex Muddy Buddies and hanging with my brothers and their friends. Nintendo 64 might also make an appearance.

What are you up to?

In other news, this song has been stuck in my head for the whole pre-New Year’s week:

Tonight, whether you’re sitting on the couch snuggled up watching Dick Clark (ie, Me), out partying or snoozing in the new year (ie, Varun), just remember, New Year’s is a wildly overrated holiday. (To which I just dedicated 144 words) Have fun!

P.S. Remember last year when Varun made the comment about the ball dropping? Haha! Here’s to another year of laughter and confusion in the Rana Family!

I found your blog from Rage Against the Minivan, and I love it! In college we had a good friend who was Indian, and I worked for an elderly Indian women who had been in the States for quite a few years, but I can totally relate to some of your posts. You know, other than actually being married to an Indian… :) I’m excited to read your blog some more. :) Happy New Year! :)

I also just found your blog through Rage Against the Minivan, and I can’t believe I’ve never seen it before! My husband is Indian American, and I follow a lot of other bloggers who are in relationships with South Asian men. I’m excited to add you to my regular reading!
