It’s the Little Things: Summer Joys

This past week was hot and sunny and I spent most of it writing a paper. But there were definitely lots of little joys splattered across my week!

Top: I implemented a new system for writing a research paper: index cards sorted into topics. UH-mazing!

Middle: My urban garden is bursting with mint, basil and budding tomatoes and sunflowers!I love watering the plants every morning and evening and watching them grow–overnight!

Gorgeous sunset from our balcony

Delicious and healthy lunches. Juicy ripe apricots and peaches…!

Fridge-art from my newphew (adorable)

Bright colours in our living room

Bottom: Varun trying to write something with sparklers

My man.

Another awe inspiring sunset. How am I supposed to get any work done with this view?!

Fridge art from my niece (seriously, too cute)

Homemade iced tea with mint from the garden.

What about you?! What were the small joys in your week?

I love your urban garden! I would love to grow tomatoes, too, but unfortunately we don’t have enough sun on our balcony.

I actually stumbled across planting tomatoes. I had no idea how much they love sunlight. And we get a A LOT of sunlight! Although I think I should have actually planted them as far apart as they package said….

I actually has a small joy today when I checked my work email. I was pleasantly surprised to find an email in my inbox from the woman who runs orientation at work. I am now working for Easterseals! (As a side note: I started work 3 months ago and I am just now getting my new employee orientation/NEO!). This is what the email said: “Appreciated your enthusiasm and kind comments at NEO/ let us know how we can help. Thanks” It came out of the blue and it really made me smile today! I just wanted to share that with you.

What do you think? I'd love to hear from you!
